Meet the Owner - Gabrielle Fumai

Gabrielle Fumai is the founder and owner of Sorelle Oyster Bay. After years of working as a merchant and buyer for several designers in New York City, Gabrielle decided to pursue an entrepreneurial way of life. In 2017 she moved back to her hometown of Oyster Bay with her husband, Chris, to pursue opening what is now the North Shore’s hottest luxury consignment destination.

Sorelle means "Sisters" in the Italian language. Gabrielle is very close to her two sisters, Marisa & Francesca, who she has shared clothing and accessories with over the years. Since they were young they have learned from the most fashionable of the family, their Mom. Gabrielle’s Mom, Cindy, has always been one of her biggest supporters and has helped her to grow the business over the past two years.

Gabrielle’s family roots run deep in the town of Oyster Bay. She loves supporting the same community that her family has lived in for many generations. She loves to support local charities and organizations that make a meaningful, positive impact in the community.

Steven Vando - Original Watercolors

Sorelle is decorated with original watercolor artwork for purchase, painted by Gabrielle's father, Steven Vando. Originally from New York City, Steven began painting, drawing and creating art at a young age. His art education, though mainly self-taught through life experiences and observation, included studying at Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts. His adult career has lead him through many different creative and business endeavors, while always thinking of returning to his artistic roots. In 2016, Steven began painting, creating and selling his latest original watercolors. Living on the scenic North Shore of Long Island near the water for the past 30 years has allowed Steven to draw inspiration from the natural surroundings and its many idyllic settings.
